LIVING ROOM RENOVATION
Project Description
To modernize this living room—which had, some time ago, been converted from a garage—we reconsidered the orientation and overall feel of the space. The centerpiece of the room comes in the form of a custom rounded fireplace, outlined by repurposed handmade English roof tiles. To contrast the deep red hues of the tile, white wainscot and cabinetry frame the fireplace, offering exposed shelving on both sides. The updated color scheme also includes soft honey-tone walls, which sit above the wraparound wainscot, and deep coral and cool gray upholstery.
Above, nickel silver lighting fixtures by Circa Lighting sit close to the ceiling, providing a shimmering touch without impeding the rest of the space. New concealed heating and air-conditioning equipment, along with a hidden door to the basement stairwell, continue in streamlining the design. Overall, the space favors fireside chats and shared living, making it ideal for family and guests.
